PROJECT STORY

The Bronze Street

The Bronze Street transforms the base of Taipei’s future postal tower into a 25-to-30-metre-high urban lantern. An oxidised-bronze lattice regulates light, ventilation, and privacy while extending street activity into a covered public passage.

Located beside the historic Beimen Post Office, the intervention treats Taiwanese casting as a process rather than an applied motif. The density of the components changes with the programme, while selected moving pieces respond to air and rain. Patina, runoff, repairs, worn road markings, scooters, and deliveries create an identity that belongs specifically to Taipei.

The series shows the building through everyday operation: traffic, monsoon rain, postal deliveries, cleaning, and the final departure at night. It demonstrates how high-rise and urban competition visualization can communicate heritage, climate, façade performance, and public life without reducing the city to a generic backdrop.

Reference context: Taipei Post Office and the planned Chunghwa Post headquarters redevelopment. The conceptual intervention is an independent proposal by NoName Architecture; JVA Renders developed the art direction and architectural visualization.
