Architectural rendering cost in 2026: indicative prices for interiors, exteriors and animation, plus the factors that determine a professional quotation.
Architectural rendering cost typically ranges between €300 and €1,500 per image, although a simple view may cost less and a premium production, complex aerial image or animation can substantially exceed that range. The final fee depends on the modelling required, project complexity, quality of the source information, number of images, revisions, deadline and commercial use.
This updated 2026 guide explains how much a render costs, what a quotation normally includes and how to compare proposals without sacrificing the quality your project requires.

What determines architectural rendering cost?
1. Starting information and 3D modelling
A clean, well-organised BIM or 3D model reduces the initial workload. If only 2D drawings, sketches or references are available, the studio must model the architecture, furniture, surroundings and details before lighting and rendering. This is why two visually similar images may have different quotations.
2. Scene complexity
A detached house does not require the same production effort as a tower, urban competition or complex development with landscaping, traffic and many assets. Vegetation, bespoke materials, water, singular façades and aerial views all increase production time.
3. Number of images
A series shares its model, materials and lighting. This distributes preparation costs across several views and enables economies of scale. It is useful to define from the outset which images are genuinely required for marketing, competition, approval or design purposes.
4. Revisions and design status
A professional quotation should state how many revision rounds are included. Camera, material or styling adjustments within those rounds form part of the process; redesigning the project once production is advanced may require an additional fee.
5. Deadline and urgency
Urgent commissions require teams and production schedules to be reorganised. A realistic programme improves the result and avoids unnecessary costs. Any immovable delivery date should be communicated before the quotation is accepted.
6. Artistic level and image use
A design-development image does not have the same requirements as an international campaign, property presale or competition presentation. Art direction, post-production, licensing and detail should respond to the final use.
We examine these elements in greater depth in the factors that affect 3D rendering prices.
Price per image or per project?
Per-image pricing works well when the scope is clearly defined. Project pricing is often better for large series, animations, virtual tours or multi-stage commissions. In both cases, deliverables, resolution, schedule, revisions and source files should be clearly stated.

Why do some renders cost €99 and others thousands?
The difference is not simply resolution. It includes team experience, scene construction, material and lighting realism, composition, narrative, attention to detail, quality control and the ability to coordinate changes. A low-cost image may be adequate for an internal check; a premium campaign must communicate value, identity and confidence.
Our comparison of 3D rendering price tiers explains what can reasonably be expected at each level.
How to request a comparable quotation
- State the purpose and audience of the images.
- Attach drawings, a 3D or BIM model, materials and references.
- Define the number of views, format, resolution and orientation.
- Specify the final deadline and review milestones.
- Explain which parts of the design are fixed and which remain open.
- Confirm the intended use and whether animation, 360° or virtual reality is required.

Frequently asked questions about architectural rendering cost
How much does a house render cost?
As a reference, a residential image commonly starts at around €300 and may exceed €1,500 when it requires complete modelling, complex landscaping, interior design or advanced advertising production.
Is 3D modelling included?
It depends on the supplied files and quotation. If the model needs cleaning or only 2D drawings are available, modelling is assessed as part of the work. JVA Renders specifies this before production begins.
How many revisions are included?
The number is defined in the proposal. We use review milestones to validate the camera, materials, lighting and post-production while avoiding unnecessary late-stage changes.
Is it cheaper to commission several images?
Usually yes, because the views share a substantial part of the modelling and preparation. The actual saving depends on whether they belong to the same space, building or campaign.
How long does a render take?
A single image may be completed in a few days, while a complex series or animation can require several weeks. The final schedule is confirmed after reviewing the project material.
