Virtual tours and 360°

We create tours that let users look around, move or jump between rooms from a computer, mobile device or sales space. They are especially useful when users need to understand the layout independently.

IN DETAIL

Virtual tours and 360°

Virtual tours let people explore architecture that cannot yet be visited. Unlike a film with a fixed order, a navigable experience allows the viewer to pause in a room, compare views and understand how spaces connect at their own pace.

Designing the route

Connecting panoramas is only a starting point. We choose viewpoints from which each space reads clearly and plan transitions so visitors know where they are and where they can go. The selection follows the project: a home may need to explain the entrance, living areas and bedrooms; a development may include amenities, several unit types and the surrounding context.

Every 360-degree scene needs particular care around ceilings, floors, junctions and nearby objects, because users can look in any direction. Materials, lighting and furnishings should remain continuous between spaces. We also check the interface, loading behaviour and intended use, whether the tour lives on a website, in a sales presentation or on a showroom screen.

Information that helps the visitor

Depending on scope, a tour may include information points, orientation plans, material options or links to specifications and image galleries. These features should help people make decisions without overwhelming the experience. For off-plan marketing, it is useful to distinguish what is fixed in the design from options that remain subject to change.

We work from drawings, models and references, then agree which spaces genuinely need to be shown. A directed audiovisual story can be paired with architectural animation. For immersion at scale, explore virtual reality; for campaign imagery, see our photorealistic 3D renders.

Virtual tours for decisions and sales

A digital visit helps people understand the relationship between rooms before a show home exists. Freedom to look around still needs orientation: a compact plan, visible navigation points and clear room names make the route usable without instructions. We test interaction on both mobile and desktop because controls that work with a mouse may behave differently on a touch screen.

In a residential development we choose spaces around questions that arise in sales conversations: arrival, living-room scale, daylight, terrace connections and relationships between bedrooms. Public and workplace projects may instead need to show circulation, accessibility and shared areas. The aim is not to fill a tour with scenes; it is to include the views that genuinely help a visitor understand the design.

Production and maintenance

We begin with current documentation and agree which variants should be visible. Once 360-degree locations are set, scenes are reviewed together so material, lighting or furnishing changes do not create discontinuities between rooms. We also decide where the tour will be hosted and who will update text or links if commercial information changes, particularly when an experience supports a campaign over several months.

Tour imagery can feed a brochure or website, although a standalone render usually deserves its own framing and composition. We therefore plan photorealistic renders and navigation together. When a linear narrative is required, animation can complement the tour. Scope depends on scene count, navigation points, interaction, platform and the state of the model.

At handover we check that every navigation point opens the correct room, labels do not hide relevant information and panoramas retain quality on different devices. We identify which parts may need updating over the course of a campaign. If the design changes after launch, the affected scenes can be isolated and revised without rebuilding the entire tour.

A clear handover includes the final link, navigation map and a record of the scenes and information points. The sales or communications team can then understand what is shown and report precise changes if the design evolves.

We test the route with people who have not seen the design before; their hesitation often reveals where labels or transitions need to be clearer.

Navigation accessibility also matters: controls, labels and states should make sense on different devices. The W3C guide to accessible menus provides useful criteria for reviewing an interactive interface alongside tests with people who have not seen the design.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before we begin.

What is a 360º virtual tour?+

It is a digital experience for exploring a space through connected panoramas or interactive navigation.

Does it work on mobile?+

Yes, when the integration is responsive and assets are optimised.

Can it be embedded in a website?+

Yes. It can be embedded or linked depending on the platform and technology.

Can it include information hotspots?+

Yes. They can explain materials, typologies or relevant project features.
